Today was filled with work for members of RS. With eviction from Dilworth Plaza looming, there was plenty to do. Our group put a lot of effort toward helping people move their belongings and themselves to alternate camping locations around the city. Several trips, with Dan’s van filled to the ceiling As a result we pulled the previous post that stated we will be on Thomas Paine Plaza tomorrow. We will announce our first event soon.
Right now we are watching the protest against eviction. Some of us are on site, others are watching on livestream. Personally, it is still puzzling to think about why people are sitting there protesting the eviction. They intend to get arrested, I guess. This could have been handled much more effectively, in my opinion. Anyway, I support them in their efforts to raise awareness about the many issues we are facing as a society. I hope they remain non-violent and get out of the way of the construction and jobs soon enough.
